This ‘Update Report’ is the second in a series of papers covering key knowledge sharing outcomes from ARENA’s portfolio of GFM battery projects: the ARENA Grid-Forming Battery Portfolio Series. This report consolidates the key project learnings arising from the development and connection of six grid-forming (GFM) battery energy storage system (BESS) projects on the National Energy Market (NEM) which are a part of the Australian Renewable Energy Agency’s (ARENA) portfolio of funded projects. This report explores the early findings from the development and connection processes of these projects.
