Limestone Coast North BESS
Case Study Context
Limestone Coast North BESS is a 250MW / 500MWh BESS connecting into ElectraNet’s 275kV network in Mt Gambier, South Australia. Intera Renewables acquired the Limestone Coast North BESS from Pacific Green in in March 2025 and achieved Notice To Proceed (NTP) shortly thereafter. Ekistica is engaged to provide Owners’ Engineer services throughout construction.
Oversight of the BESS Integrator and Balance Of Plant (BOP) contractor delivery alongside agreed timeline, scope and budget in order to achieve timely completion to commercial operations.
Delivery
Ekistica was engaged by Intera to conduct technical due diligence on the project, evaluating its technical and financial viability for investment. This involved assessing the design, grid connection, key contracts, schedule, planning & regulatory, and environmental factors, including a site visit. The assessments led to effective technical outcomes that supported the investment decision.
Ekistica provided technical advisory support throughout the sale process and up to the Notice to Proceed (NTP), ensuring that all technical and contractual conditions were met to successfully move the project forward. Post-NTP, Ekistica’s role extended as the Owners Engineer in the project development, through construction and the transition to commercial operation.
