Shalini is an electrical engineer with specialist knowledge of modelling and simulating electrical grids. Her masters degree involved simulating the integration of an Australian town into a Smart Grid as a modular tool for the primary step to studying feasibility of planning a Smart City; and she has worked as an engineering intern at iSyst Gmbh in Germany, and undertaken work experience for Power and Water Corporation in Alice Springs, working on electrical upgrades for the Tennant Creek Power Station.
Since joining Ekistica as a graduate in 2015, she has worked on a variety of projects including multi-megawatt solar PV installations at commercial airports, analysis of energy consumption data in remote indigenous communities for a utility running a national energy efficiency program, and electrical upgrades at Alice Springs Hospital and Geoscience Australia’s Data Acquisition Centre in Alice Springs.
Shalini is one of Ekistica’s more experienced graduates, and provides design engineering, data analysis and project delivery support to the company’s senior project managers. Through this she is building her understanding of the complex challenges of remote area infrastructure development and the means by which to translate, create and deliver innovative solutions to these.
